Dinner @lacalendamex amazing!!!! Some of the most elevated Mexican food in a casual fun environment. We started with the fresh chips served with salsa and the freshest guacamole. The queso fundido was cheesy goodness served with homemade tortillas. The green cucumber salsa was spicy and fresh! Classic ceasar salad elevated by brioche croutons. The mushroom quesadillas were over the top with deliciousness- filled with wild mushrooms, cheese and served with a habanero salsa that was so flavorful it would make you feel the heat too! The stun was the freshest ahi thinly sliced and marinated in chilis and citrus. The garlic rhino were the most perfectly cooked shrimp. The steak was perfectly cooked and so full of favor- the char on the outside was amazing!! The pollo al carbon was the most juicy and flavorful chicken I've ever had. Served with rice and esquites!! Dessert was the lightest churros and tres leche cake so moist it was like a tiramisu. Incredible dinner! Can't wait to back and have their tacos!

First time visiting La Calenda after being recommended by multiple people. We came on a Sunday afternoon. I had previous looked it up and noticed they took reservations, but we took our chances with a walk up. They have a small parking lot connected to the restaurant which we managed to snag a spot. Upon entering they still have their Dia De Los Muertos decorations still up which looked fantastic! Beautiful marigolds everywhere. There was a small line at the host stand but lucky when it was our turn we were sat immediately. We got a table on their little patio. I had noticed our server just got sat quite a bit, yet he was still quick to greet us and take a drink/ appetizer order. We stuck with water and got the totopos, guacamole y salsa and the quesadilla de hongos to share. Food came out fairly quickly. The chips were thick and warm! They tasted fresh! The guacamole and salsa were also delicious. I think the quesadilla was my favorite overall. The mushrooms were super meaty and had a nice char, smoke to them. The habanero salsa that came with it was also bomb! A great spice but also flavorful! For our entrees I ordered their enfrijoladas de camote and my boyfriend ordered their pollo al carbon. He said he enjoyed his chicken which also came with a side of tortillas. I also enjoyed my enchiladas. Very comforting and very filling! Our server was sure to pop in often to fill our water and check on our food. Overall we really enjoyed La Calenda! Prices are reasonable for the size and quality, service was top notch and the vibe over all was cute! I can't wait to visit again!

You could probably spend a weekend exploring Thomas Keller's creations in the Napa Valley. La Calenda in Yountville is definitely an easy one to enjoy again and again. The patio area is where it's at -- lively, spacious, and cute decor. The indoor seating area can get a bit loud and cramped depending on where you're seated. I saw another reviewer note that the service was slow but [very] friendly and that's the truth, for sure. Our server did give us some hot tips on tastings to check out in the area! All the food hit the spot! Our favorites were the Al pastor tacos and fish tacos. I'm a sucker for a battered and fried fish taco so I loved this take. The chips and guacamole was tasty. The tres leches was just enough for two to share and it was perfectly executed--ate all of that up! Every bit of food was so fresh and high quality. This isn't Tex Mex and it's not as authentic as homemade--enjoy it for what it is and it's dang good. Sure, you may be pushed to pay a pretty penny per taco but it's worth the experience. Didn't get a chance to try their margaritas because our Napa weekend was wine, wine, and more wine but we will be back to try that and more!

Fantastic spot! We had the aguachile and a few other appetizers, and everything was fresh and flavorful. Our toddler loved the food too, which is always a win! Friendly service and a great atmosphere--highly recommend!

Went here for a work lunch with a menu curated by my colleague and served family style. The prawns were so good and I did not get a picture. We asked for seconds of the prawns and carne asada. The refried beans has great flavor but they were so runny and impossible to eat with a fork. The corn dish was my second favorite behind the prawns, the watermelon salad was so refreshing on a 100 degree October day. I love all things Thomas Keller and highly recommend this place. Will be back.

We sat outside on a weekday. The patio is nice and spacious. When we walked inside after our meal we didn't realize how big the restaurant it. Loved the open kitchen. We started with the chips and guacamole which was delicious. There were a lot of reviews on fish tacos so we ordered those too. We are from San Diego and unfortunately those did not hit home for us. The pork carnitas were heavenly though. I would highly recommend. The tortillas were fresh and homemade which I appreciated. We ordered the spicy Margarita and it was one of the best I've ever had. Our server was very knowledgeable and friendly. I would highly recommend this place

Overall great experience the grilled whole fish was my favorite part of our meal. The watermelon salad was also so refreshing. My only negative was our tres leches left something to be desired. Cake seemed a little too thick and not soaked enough. Fun vibe and attentive staff

Very nice ambiance and plenty of tables. Original decor, lively and happy. The Service: Really, really nice and polite people. Every. One. Person. They were sincerely polite without any superficial element. One of the best services we have ever received. The Food: Mind blowing good! Real organic eggs. Taste explosion with each bite. Authentic homemade tortillas. And everything is so fresh!!! Loved it!!

I was on the fence about coming here due to mixed reviews but was pleasantly surprised. We got the cactus app (I think it was the Huarache de Nopales), and 3 types of tacos: Pescado, al Pastor, and Barbacoa. I wish they gave chips and salsa for free but this is the bougiest Mexican restaurant I've been to, and they are charging haha. We enjoyed everything! The fish tacos might be best fish tacos I've ever had--perfect balance of a crispy outside and tender inside. We ate outside on the patio, they have umbrellas. I would definitely come back and would like to try the rest of the menu!
